Abstract We present optical colors of 72 transneptunian objects (TNOs), and infrared colors of 80 TNOs obtained with the WFPC2 and NICMOS instruments, respectively, on the Hubble Space Telescope (HST). Both optical and infrared colors are available for 32 objects that overlap between the datasets. This dataset adds an especially uniform, consistent and large contribution to the overall sample of colors, particularly in the infrared. The range of our measured colors is consistent with other… Expand
LIGHT CURVES OF 32 LARGE TRANSNEPTUNIAN OBJECTS
We present observations of 32 primarily bright, newly discovered Transneptunian objects (TNOs) observable from the Southern Hemisphere during 39 nights of observation with the Irenee du Pont 2.5 mExpand
Multi-band Photometry of Trans-Neptunian Objects in the Subaru Hyper Suprime-Cam Survey
We present a visible multi-band photometry of trans-Neptunian objects (TNOs) observed by the Subaru Telescope in the framework of Hyper Suprime-Cam Subaru Strategic Program (HSC-SSP) from March inExpand
Updated taxonomy of trans-neptunian objects and centaurs: Influence of albedo
Abstract We present updated classification of 258 trans-neptunian objects (TNOs) and centaurs based on their visible and near-infrared colors. With increasing quality and quantity of colorExpand
The composition of “ultra-red” TNOs and centaurs
Abstract We present an analysis of the colors available for seven trans-neptunian objects (TNOs) and three centaurs among the reddest known, aimed at characterizing their surface chemical properties.Expand
Reanalyzing the visible colors of Centaurs and KBOs: what is there and what we might be missing
Visible colors (BVRI) are a reasonable proxy for real spectra of Centaurs and Kuiper Belt Objects, which are rather linear in this range. Colors provide limited information but remain the best toolExpand
Col-OSSOS: Color and Inclination Are Correlated throughout the Kuiper Belt
Both physical and dynamical properties must be considered to constrain the origins of the dynamically excited distant Solar System populations. We present high-precision (g-r) colors for 25 smallExpand
THE COLOR DIFFERENCES OF KUIPER BELT OBJECTS IN RESONANCE WITH NEPTUNE
The optical colors of 58 objects in mean motion resonance with Neptune were obtained. The various Neptune resonant populations were found to have significantly different surface color distributions.Expand
The Hubble Wide Field Camera 3 Test of Surfaces in the Outer Solar System: Spectral Variation on Kuiper Belt Objects
Here we present additional photometry of targets observed as part of the Hubble Wide Field Camera 3 Test of Surfaces in the Outer Solar System. 12 targets were re-observed with the Wide Field CameraExpand
“TNOs are Cool”: A survey of the trans-Neptunian region - VI. Herschel/PACS observations and thermal modeling of 19 classical Kuiper belt objects
Trans-Neptunian objects (TNO) represent the leftovers of the formation of the Solar System. Their physical properties provide constraints to the models of formation and evolution of the variousExpand
A portrait of the extreme solar system object 2012 DR30
DR30 is a recently discovered solar system object on a unique orbit, with a high eccentricity of 0.9867, a perihelion distance of 14.54 AU, and a semi-major axis of 1109 AU, in this respectExpand

Visible and near-infrared colors of Transneptunian objects and Centaurs from the second ESO large program
Aims. We investigate color properties and define or check taxonomic classifications of objects observed in our survey. Methods. All observations were performed between October 2006 and September 2007Expand
Color Properties and Trends of the Transneptunian Objects
The color of transneptunian objects (TNOs) is the first and basic information that can be easily obtained to study the surface properties of these faint and icy primitive bodies of the outer solarExpand
Colors and Spectra of Kuiper Belt Objects
We present new measurements of the optical colors of Kuiper belt objects, principally from the Keck 10 m telescope. The measurements confirm the existence of a wide spread in the B-V, V-R, and R-IExpand
New BVRI photometry results on Kuiper Belt Objects from the ESO VLT
Context. Photometric surveys of transNeptunian objects (TNOs) and Centaurs have suggested possible correlations between some orbital parameters and surface colors of classical objects, scattered diskExpand
Results from the Eso Large Program on Transneptunian Objects and Centaurs
BVRI photometry of 107 TNOs and Centaurs establishes the range of spectral gradients to be between –5 to 55%/100 nm (with one exception). A cluster of very red Cubewanos is firmly identified inExpand
Colors and taxonomy of Centaurs and trans-Neptunian objects
Context. The study of the surface properties of Centaurs and trans-Neptunian objects (TNOs) provides essential information about the early conditions and evolution of the outer Solar System. Due toExpand
