In this note we update the discussion of the BMN correspondence and string interactions in [4] to incorporate the effects of operator mixing. We diagonalize the matrix of two point functions of single and double trace operators, and compute the eigen-operators and their anomalous dimensions to order g22λ'. Operators in different R symmetry multiplets remain degenerate at this order; we propose this is a consequence of supersymmetry. We also calculate the corresponding energy shifts in string…

Operator Mixing and the AdS/CFT correspondence.

We provide a direct prescription for computing the mixing among gauge invariant operators in = 4 SYM. Our approach is based on the action of the superalgebra on the states of the theory and thus it

BMN operators and string field theory

Instability and degeneracy in the BMN correspondence

Non-degenerate perturbation theory, which was used to calculate the scale dimension of operators on the gauge theory side of the correspondence, breaks down when effects of triple trace operators are

O ct 2 00 2 BMN operators and string field theory

We extract from gauge theoretical calculations the matrix elements of the SYM dilatation operator. By the BMN correspondence this should coincide with the 3-string vertex of light cone string field

Tracing the string: BMN correspondence at finite J**2/N

Employing the string bit formalism of [18], we identify the basis transformation that relates BMN operators in = 4 gauge theory to string states in the dual string field theory at finite g2 = J2/N.

Operator mixing and three-point functions in N = 4 SYM

We study the three-point functions between two BPS and one non-BPS local gauge invariant operators in = 4 Super Yang-Mills theory. We show in explicit 1-loop examples that the single trace operator

Fermion BMN operators, the dilatation operator of N=4 SYM, and pp wave string interactions

The goal of this paper is to study the BMN correspondence in the fermionic sector. On the field theory side, we compute matrix elements of the dilatation operator in = 4 Super Yang-Mills for BMN

Non-perturbative effects in the BMN limit of Script N=4 supersymmetric Yang-Mills

One-instanton contributions to the correlation functions of two gauge-invariant single-trace operators in = 4 SU(N) Yang-Mills theory are studied in semi-classical approximation in the BMN limit. The

Vector operators in the BMN correspondence

We consider a BMN operator with one scalar, and one vector, DμZ, impurity field and compute the anomalous dimension both at planar and torus levels. This mixed operator corresponds to a string state

PP-wave string interactions from n-point correlators of BMN operators

BMN operators are characterized by the fact that they have infinite R-charge and finite anomalous dimension in the BMN double scaling limit. Using this fact, we show that the BMN operators close

Bits, matrices and 1/N

We propose a simple string bit formalism for interacting strings in a plane wave background, in terms of supersymmetric quantum mechanics with a symmetric product target-space. We construct the

Superstring interactions in a pp-wave background II

In type-IIB light-cone superstring field theory, the cubic interaction has two pieces: a delta-functional overlap and an operator inserted at the interaction point. In this paper we extend our

String Interactions in PP Wave from N=4 Superyang-Mills

We consider non-planar contributions to the correlation functions of BMN operators in free N = 4 super Yang Mills theory. We recalculate these non-planar contributions from a different kind of

Three point functions in N=4 Yang-Mills theory and pp waves

Recently it has been proposed that the coefficient of the three-point function of the BMN operators in = 4 supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory is related to the three-string interactions in the pp-wave

Superstring interactions in a pp -wave background

We construct light-cone gauge superstring field theory in a pp-wave background with Ramond-Ramond flux. The leading term in the interaction Hamiltonian is determined up to an overall function of
