The use of Ontology Design Patterns (ODPs) in ontology engineering has been shown to have beneficial effects on the quality of developed ontologies, and promises increased interoperability of those same ontologies. Unfortunately, the lack of user-friendly integrated ODP tooling has prevented the adoption of pattern use.
