High-speed countercurrent chromatography (HSCCC) was successfully applied to the isolation and purification of four flavonoids from Herba Salviae Plbeiae using stepwise and dual-mode elution with a pair of two-phase solvent systems. The systems composed of n-hexane-chloroform-methanol-water (0.5 : 4 : 3 : 2, v/v/v/v) and chloroform-methanol-water (4 : 3 : 2, v/v/v). Analytical HSCCC was used for the preliminary selection of a suitable system, and a linear scale-step procedure was performed at a…

Preparative Purification of Bioactive Compounds from Flos Chrysanthemi Indici and Evaluation of Its Antiosteoporosis Effect
TLDR
The present study demonstrated that theAntiosteoporosis effects of FCI did not depend on a single component, and HSCCC efficiently isolated and purified the antiosteeporosis bioactive compounds from FCI.

Flavonoids are of great interest in relation to their actions in living organisms and their role in biological and physiological interactions. In regard to the significance of the pharmaceutical
Solvent System Selection Strategies in Countercurrent Separation.
TLDR
This work offers the practitioner an up-to-date overview of rationales and methods for choosing an efficient solvent system, provides a perspective regarding their accuracy, reliability, and practicality, and discusses the possibility of combining multiple methods for enhanced prediction power.
Linarin promotes osteogenic differentiation by activating the BMP-2/RUNX2 pathway via protein kinase A signaling
TLDR
Linarin induced the osteogenic differentiation and mineralization of MC3T3-E1 osteoblastic cells by activating the BMP-2/RUNX2 pathway through PKA signaling in vitro and protected against OVX-induced bone loss in vivo, suggesting that LIN is a useful natural alternative for the management of postmenopausal osteoporosis.
