SummaryIn this paper we consider the problems of quantization and renormalization of gauge gravitational theory. We evaluate the one-loop effective action in two models which are based onGA(4,R) andP10 structural groups. It is shown that there are different sets of dynamical variables in these theories. One-loop divergences of the Einstein-Hilbert-type action with cosmological constant can be eliminated by renormalization of the latter. We show that the different sets of variables inGA(4,R… Expand

Detailed analysis of the dependence of 1-loop counter-terms on gauge and parametrization in Einstein gravity with a cosmological constant
The dependence of Einstein gravity with the cosmological constant on the gauge and parametrization is analysed. The 1-loop counter-terms off the mass shell have been plainly calculated in arbitraryExpand
THE ONE-LOOP DIVERGENCES OF THE LINEAR GRAVITY WITH THE TORSION TERMS IN TETRAD APPROACH
In this letter we discuss the connection between the geometric and tetrad approaches in the quantum affine-metric gravity. The corresponding transition formulas are obtained at the one-loop level. AsExpand
Projective invariance and one-loop effective action in affine metric gravity interacting with a scalar field
We investigate the influence of projective invariance on the renormalization properties of the theory. One-loop counter-terms are calculated in the most general case of interaction of gravity with aExpand
One-loop divergences of linear gravity with torsion terms
We investigate the role of the torsion field at the quantum level. One-loop counterterms are calculated in the theory with terms quadratic in the torsion field. We have shown that the theory isExpand

The ultraviolet behavior of Einstein gravity
We have recently reported on a two-loop calculation showing that the S matrix of Einstein's theory of gravity contains non-renormalizable ultraviolet divergences in four dimensions. In this paper weExpand
Renormalizable asymptotically free quantum theory of gravity

Renormalization of Higher Derivative Quantum Gravity
Gravitational actions which include terms quadratic in the curvature tensor are renormalizable. The necessary Slavnov identities are derived from Becchi-Rouet-Stora (BRS) transformations of theExpand

The construction of field theory which exhibits invariance under the Weyl group with parameters dependent on space–time is discussed. The method is that used by Utiyama for the Lorentz group and byExpand
The Renormalizabilty of the General Gravity Theory with Torsion and the Spontaneous Breaking of Lorentz Group
The renormalizability of a general-gravity-theory with torsion, which contains all possible dimensionless coupling constants, is investigated. It is shown that the Lorentz symmetry group can beExpand
The gauge treatment of gravity
Abstract The gauge gravitation theory, in spite of twenty five years of its history, still remains the single gap in the excellent gauge picture of fundamental interactions. The main disputable pointExpand
THE METRIC-AFFINE GRAVITATIONAL THEORY AS THE GAUGE THEORY OF THE AFFINE GROUP
Abstract The metric-affine gravitational theory is shown to be the gauge theory of the affine group, or equivalently, the gauge theory of the group GL(4,R) of tetrad deformations in a space-time withExpand
