This paper deals with the application of artificial neural networks (ANN) technique for the study of a case history using 1-D inversion of vertical electrical resistivity sounding (VES) data from the Puga valley, Kashmir, India. The study area is important for its rich geothermal resources as well as from the tectonic point of view as it is located near the collision boundary of the Indo-Asian crustal plates.
