We propose to study certain topological properties of cyclic products of spheres. Applications may be made in the theory of fiber bundles('). Our success is as follows. We shall introduce first the notion of "regular imbedding of a space into its r-products" (this notion appears in a more general situation). Let X be a locally compact, paracompact Hausdorff space. By the r-product X" of X we mean the orbit space over a q-fold Cartesian product Xq of X on which a group r of permutations of… Expand

Symmetric Joins and Weighted Barycenters

Abstract Given a space X, we study the homotopy type of Bn(X) the space obtained as the “union of all (n−1)-simplexes spanned by points in X” or the space of “formal barycenters of weight n or less”Expand

The quasi KO-homology types of the stunted real projective spaces
Ii : EAE+E stands for the multiplication of E. In this case we write X E Y, and we call such a map h : Y-~E A X a quasi E,~-equivalence. We shall be concerned with the quasi KO-equivalence where KOExpand
Continuity argument revisited : geometry of root clustering via symmetric products
We study the spaces of polynomials stratified into the sets of polynomial with fixed number of roots inside certain semialgebraic region $\Omega$, on its border, and at the complement to its closure.Expand
The existence of symplectic 3-forms on 7-manifolds
A k-form ω is called multi-symplectic, if Iω is a monomorphism. The classification (under the action ofGl(V )) of multi-symplectic 3-forms in dimension 7 has been done by Bures and Vanzura [B-V2002].Expand

The Euler characteristic of the symmetric product of a finite CW-complex
In this paper it is first shown that if M is a 2-dimensional surface, then M (m) is orientable if and only if M is orientable. Using the Macdonald’s result [5] the Betti numbers of M (m) areExpand
