In my previous papers I have given accounts of the doubly refraction and polarisation of electric waves produced by various crystals and other substances, and also by strained dielectrics. A account was there given of the polarisation apparatus with which the effects were studied. In the present investigation effects has to be studied which were exceedingly feeble. The apparatus has therefore, to be made of extreme sensitiveness; but the secondary disturbances became at the same time more…
A comparative study of planewave propagation in helicoidal bianisotropic mediums and isotropic chiral mediums
Helicoidal bianisotropic mediums (HBMs) are periodically nonhomogeneous and possess structural chirality. We establish a variety of conditions concerning the equivalence of planewave propagation
Scattering of an electromagnetic plane wave by a homogeneous sphere made of an orthorhombic dielectric-magnetic material.
An exact transition matrix was formulated for electromagnetic scattering by an orthorhombic dielectric-magnetic sphere whose permeability dyadic is a scalar multiple of its permittivity dyadic.
Electromagnetic Waves in a Material with Simultaneous Mirror-Conjugated and Racemic Chirality Characteristics
A material combining both mirror-conjugated and racemic chirality properties is characterized and classified within the context of linear bianisotropic mediums. Planewave propagation in the chosen
Electromagnetic Waves in a Material with Simultaneous Mirror-Conjugated and Racemic Chirality Characteristics

Negative phase velocity in a material with simultaneous mirror-conjugated and racemic chirality characteristics
The propagation of electromagnetic plane waves in a material with simultaneous mirror-conjugated and racemic chirality (SMCRC) characteristics is investigated. General conditions for negative phase
A numerical investigation on dipole antenna loaded with a bi-isotropic body of arbitrary shape
The studies of bi-isotropic materials can be dated back to the early 19th century when a phenomenon called optical activity was noticed and studied at that time. In 1811, Arago discovered that the
Experimental and theoretical investigation of the co-occurrence of linear and circular dichroisms for oblique incidence of light on chiral sculptured thin films.
Theory shows that a slab of a dielectric structurally chiral material (DSCM) exhibits both linear and circular dichroisms because of its anisotropy and structural chirality, for normal as well as
Detuning conditions for negative dielectric in optical metamaterials
The study of theoretical optical metamaterials provides no detail insight of the atomic and molecular level of bulk matter with respect to negative n. Instead, most theoretical research starts from a
Slot Antenna on a Conducting Elliptic Cylinder Coated by Chiral Media
Abstract The characteristics of a slot antenna on a perfectly conducting elliptic cylinder coated by confocal chiral media are investigated. The structure is fed with a line source or a plane wave.
Theoretical evaluation of left-handed material parameters with cylindrical inclusions
We studied the electric and magnetic responses from the infinite chain of circular metallic cylinders periodically engrossed in a dielectric matrix (wax). The study used the effective medium theory
