The compilation of published spectra of Galactic HII regions with available diagnostic [OIII]4363 line has been carried out. Our list contains 71 individual measurements of 13 HII regions in the range of galactocentric distances from 6.6 to 14.8 kpc. The oxygen abundances in all the HII regions were recomputed in the same way, using the classic Te - method. The oxygen abundance at the solar galactocentric distance traced by those HII regions is in agreement with the oxygen abundance in the… Expand

The Oxygen Abundance in Our Galaxy
The compilation of published spectra of Galactic H ii regions with available diagnostic [OIII] λ 4363 line information has been carried out. Our list contains 71 individual measurements of 13 H iiExpand
Carbon and Oxygen Galactic Gradients: Observational Values from H II Region Recombination Lines*
We present results of deep echelle spectrophotometry of eight Galactic H ii regions located at Galactocentric distances between 6.3 and 10.4 kpc. The data have been taken with the Very LargeExpand
Abundance determinations in HII regions: model fitting versus Te-method
The discrepancy between the oxygen abundances in high-metallicity HII regions determined through the Te-method (and/or through the corresponding "strong lines - oxygen abundance" calibration) andExpand
H II REGION METALLICITY DISTRIBUTION IN THE MILKY WAY DISK
The distribution of metals in the Galaxy provides important information about galaxy formation and evolution. H II regions are the most luminous objects in the Milky Way at mid-infrared to radioExpand
Galactic Metallicity Gradients Derived from a Sample of OB Stars
The distribution of stellar abundances along the Galactic disk is an important constraint for models of chemical evolution and Galaxy formation. In this study we derive radial gradients of C, N, O,Expand
Oxygen and nitrogen abundances in nearby galaxies. Correlations between oxygen abundance and macroscopic properties
We performed a compilation of more than 1000 published spectra of H  regions in spiral galaxies. The oxygen and nitrogen abundances in each H  region were recomputed in a homogeneous way, usingExpand
Planetary Nebula Abundances and Morphology: Probing the Chemical Evolution of the Milky Way
This paper presents a homogeneous study of abundances in a sample of 79 northern Galactic planetary nebulae (PNe) whose morphological classes have been uniformly determined. Ionic abundances andExpand
An estimate of the time variation of the abundance gradient from planetary nebulae. II. Comparison with open clusters, cepheids and young objects
The temporal behaviour of the radial abundance gradients has important consequences for models of the chemical evolution of the Galaxy. We present a comparison of the time variation of the abundanceExpand
Shape of the oxygen abundance profiles in CALIFA face-on spiral galaxies
We measured the gas abundance profiles in a sample of 122 face-on spiral galaxies observed by the CALIFA survey and included all spaxels whose line emission was consistent with star formation. ThisExpand
Metallicity gradients in the Milky Way
Abstract Radial metallicity gradients are observed in the disks of the Milky Way and in several other spiral galaxies. In the case of the Milky Way, many objects can be used to determine theExpand

Oxygen and helium abundances in Galactic H ii regions — II. Abundance gradients
The absolute integrated fluxes that we obtained (Paper I) for 34 H ii regions, with Galactocentric distances RG in the 6.6–17.7 kpc range, in the emission lines [O ii] λλ3726 and 3729, [O iii] λλ4363Expand

Using Cepheids to determine the galactic abundance gradient I. The solar neighbourhood

Oxygen and helium abundances in Galactic H ii regions — I. Observations
Absolute integrated line fluxes of H ii regions have been measured using a Fabry–Perot spectrophotometer. We describe the observations and calibration procedures. Fluxes are given for 36 H ii regionsExpand
