Mixed colonies of Lasius carniolicus from S-France revealed that Lasius (Lasius s.str.) piliferus Seifert, 1992, which itself is new to France, is one of the host species of this temporary social parasite. Other host species are Lasius (Cautolasius) flavus and probably further members of the Lasius alienus-group, though direct evidence is very scarce.
