Abstract Hyperaccreting disks around black holes are the engines that drive outflows and jets in gamma ray bursts (GRBs). The torus formed after the core collapse or a compact binary merger is composed of free nucleons, Helium, electron-positron pairs, and is cooled by neutrinos rather than photon emission. Hyperaccretion powers the ultra-relativistic jets, where the GRB prompt emission originates. The neutrons produced in the disk and also in the outflowing material are necessary for the…
Probing extra dimension through gravitational wave observations of compact binaries and their electromagnetic counterparts
The future gravitational wave (GW) observations of compact binaries and their possible electromagnetic counterparts may be used to probe the nature of the extra dimension. It is widely accepted that
SEARCHING THE GAMMA-RAY SKY FOR COUNTERPARTS TO GRAVITATIONAL WAVE SOURCES: FERMI GAMMA-RAY BURST MONITOR AND LARGE AREA TELESCOPE OBSERVATIONS OF LVT151012 AND GW151226
We present the Fermi Gamma-ray Burst Monitor (GBM) and Large Area Telescope (LAT) observations of the LIGO binary black hole merger event GW151226 and candidate LVT151012. At the time of the LIGO
Black Hole Mergers From Globular Clusters Observable by LISA I: Eccentric Sources Originating From Relativistic N-body Dynamics
We show that nearly half of all binary black hole (BBH) mergers dynamically assembled in globular clusters have measurable eccentricities (e > 0.01) in the LISA band (10^−2 Hz), when General
POEMMA’s target of opportunity sensitivity to cosmic neutrino transient sources
We calculate the sensitivity of space-based cosmic neutrino detection from transient sources in the context of the Probe Of Extreme Multi-Messenger Astrophysics (POEMMA) mission using
Black holes, Regular Made by General Relativity
By taking a collapsing star consisting of pressureless dust fluid instead of test particles in a pre-existing black hole background as a studying object, this paper, for the first time, derives out
Simulations of coalescing black holes
We describe the methods and results of numerical simulations of coalescing black holes. The simulation in dynamical spacetime covers the inspiral, merger, and ringdown phases. We analyze the emission

ACCRETION AND OUTFLOW FROM A MAGNETIZED, NEUTRINO COOLED TORUS AROUND THE GAMMA-RAY BURST CENTRAL ENGINE
We calculate the structure and short-term evolution of a gamma-ray burst (GRB) central engine in the form of a turbulent torus accreting onto a stellar mass black hole. Our models apply to the short
Nucleosynthesis of elements in gamma-ray burst engines
We consider the gamma ray burst (GRB) central engine that is powered by the collapse of a massive rotating star or compact binary merger. The engine is a hot and dense accretion disk, which is
SHORT GAMMA-RAY BURSTS FROM THE MERGER OF TWO BLACK HOLES
Short gamma-ray bursts (GRBs) are explosions of cosmic origins believed to be associated with the merger of two compact objects, either two neutron stars or a neutron star and a black hole (BH). The
ELECTROMAGNETIC COUNTERPARTS TO BLACK HOLE MERGERS DETECTED BY LIGO
Mergers of stellar-mass black holes (BHs), such as GW150914 observed by Laser Interferometer Gravitational Wave Observatory (LIGO), are not expected to have electromagnetic counterparts. However, the
Probing the central engine of long gamma-ray bursts and hypernovae with gravitational waves and neutrinos
There are the two common candidates as the viable energy source for the central engine of long gamma-ray bursts (GRBs) and hypernovae (HNe), neutrino annihilation and magnetic fields. We investigate
ULTRAFAST OUTFLOWS FROM BLACK HOLE MERGERS WITH A MINIDISK
Recently, the direct detection of gravitational waves from black hole (BH) mergers was announced by the Advanced LIGO Collaboration. Multi-messenger counterparts of stellar-mass BH mergers are of
THE PROGENITOR OF GW150914
The spectacular detection of gravitational waves (GWs) from GW150914 and its reported association with a gamma-ray burst (GRB) offer new insights into the evolution of massive stars. Here, it is
Long Gamma Ray Bursts from binary black holes
We consider a scenario for the longest duration gamma ray bursts, resulting from the collapse of a massive rotating star in a close binary system with a companion black hole. The primary black hole
CAN BLACK HOLE NEUTRINO-COOLED DISKS POWER SHORT GAMMA-RAY BURSTS?
Stellar-mass black holes (BHs) surrounded by neutrino-dominated accretion flows (NDAFs) are plausible sources of power for gamma-ray bursts (GRBs) via neutrino emission and their annihilation. The
Gravitational radiation from precessing accretion disks in gamma-ray bursts
We study the precession of accretion disks in the context of gamma-ray burst inner engines. Our aim is to quantitatively estimate the characteristics of gravitational waves produced by the precession
