The existence of Feller semigroups arising in the theory of multidimensional diffusion processes is studied. An elliptic operator of second order is considered on a plane bounded region G. Its domain of definition consists of continuous functions satisfying a nonlocal condition on the boundary of the region. In general, the nonlocal term is an integral of a function over the closure of the region G with respect to a nonnegative Borel measure µ(y, dη) ∈ ∂G. It is proved that the operator is a…

Consider a Markov chain on Z+ with reflecting barrier at 0 such that jumps of the chain outside of 0 are i.i.d. with mean zero and finite variance. It is assumed that the jump from 0 has a

A remark on the existence of a diffusion process with non-local boundary conditions

It is known that a diffusion process on a domain D with smooth boundary is determined by a pair of analytical data (A, L), where A is a second order differential operator of elliptic type and L is a

On non-negative contractive semigroups with non-local conditions

A second-order elliptic operator with non-local conditions in a bounded domain Q subset of R{sup n} with boundary {partial_derivative}Q element of C{sup {infinity}} is considered. The so-called

On Boundary Conditions For Multidimensional Diffusion Processes

The problem considered in the paper is as follows: given an elliptical operator $\mathfrak{A}$ in a closed bounded region K, the most general boundary conditions are sought, which restrict

Solvability of nonlocal elliptic problems in Sobolev spaces

We study elliptic equations of order 2m with nonlocal boundary-value condi- tions in plane angles and in bounded domains, dealing with the case in which the support of nonlocal terms intersects the

Diffusion processes in one dimension

in a finite or infinite interval r1<x<r2. Recently [2] the theory of semigroups of transformations was used to formulate the integration problem and to define the notion of lateral conditions. It

On the Fredholm and unique solvability of nonlocal elliptic problems in multidimensional domains

We consider elliptic equations of order $2m$ in a bounded domain $Q\subset\mathbb R^n$ with nonlocal boundary-value conditions connecting the values of a solution and its derivatives on

Asymptotics of Solutions for Nonlocal Elliptic Problems in Plane Angles

In the paper we investigate asymptotics of solutions for nonlocal elliptic problems in plane angles and in ℝ2 \ {0}. These problems arise in studying nonlocal problems in bounded domains in the case

Multi-dimensional diffusion and the Markov process on the boundary

W . Feller [5 , 6 , 7 ] determined all the diffusion processes in one dimension, since A. Kolmogorov introduced the d iffusion equation in 1 9 3 1 . Stimulated by his work, which is o f analytic

Elliptic Problems in Domains with Piecewise Smooth Boundaries

Discusses general elliptic boundary value problems in domains with boundaries containing conical points and edges of different dimensions. The main topic is the solvability of such problems and the
