The crossing of three dust shells is considered as a simplified model for shell crossing during the spherically symmetric collapse of dust which interacts only gravitationally. The formalism is…

We generalize the equations of motion of a shell for a sequence of thin shells and derive the general form of the expansion law of the dust shell model which represents the FRW universe when we take…

Interaction / collision of two concentric spherical thin-shells of linear fluid resulting in collapse has been considered recently. We show that addition of finely tuned electric charges on the…

The relativistic time evolution of multi-layer spherically symmetric shell systems—consisting of infinitely thin shells separated by vacuum regions—is examined. Whenever two shells collide the…

The crossing of two dust shells is considered as a simplified model for shell crossing during the spherically symmetric collapse of dust. It is shown that one encounters the same problems as in the…

The equation of motion of a thin spherical timelike shell is obtained directly from the Lanczos equations for all spherically symmetric embedding four-geometries. No explicit form for the intrinsic…
Collision of Timelike Shells in Spherically Symmetric Spacetime

The spacetime representing a collision of two time-like shells is studied. This spacetime is constructed by 'cutting and pasting' four distinct Reissner-NordstrSitter spacetimes. The junction…

We investigate collisions between two spherical massive shells in vacuum space-time by assuming that the shells are transparent. We give an expression for the energy transfer and the change in the…
