Chomsky (2013, 2015) proposes that a label of a syntactic object is provided via minimal search, but the notion of “minimal search” has not been clarified, and there remains a question of how far it locates a head that provides a label. This article addresses this issue, proposing that only the structure being of the form {XP, YP} = {{X[F], WP}, {Y[F], ZP}} provides a label via feature-sharing.
