  title={On the Distance to Nearby Dwarf Galaxy NGC 1569},
  author={Lidia Makarova and Igor D. Karachentsev},
We present stellar photometry of two HST/WFPC2 fields situated at the far periphery of the poststarburst galaxy NGC 1569. Their F606W and F814W images have been taken from the HST data archive. Judging by the obtained color-magnitude diagrams, we suggest presence of the old disk population (old red giants) of NGC 1569, which extends as far as Field I at ∼6 kpc from the galaxy center. We use the tip of the red giant branch to estimate the galaxy distance. There are two possible solutions, one…

Triggering and Feedback: The Relation between the H I Gas and the Starburst in the Dwarf Galaxy NGC 1569
As part of our study on the impact of violent star formation on the interstellar medium (ISM) of dwarf galaxies, we report observations of neutral atomic hydrogen (H I) in the starburst dwarf galaxy
Star Formation in Clusters
HST is very well tailored for observations of extragalactic star clusters. One obvious reason is HST's high spatial resolution, but equally important is the wavelength range offered by the
Anatomy of a young massive star cluster: NGC 1569-B
We present new H-band echelle spectra, obtained with the NIRSPEC spectrograph at Keck II, for the massive star cluster ‘B’ in the nearby dwarf irregular galaxy NGC 1569. From spectral synthesis and

The Resolved Stellar Population of the Poststarburst Galaxy NGC 1569
