Minimal extensions of the Standard Model (SM), such as the so-called Two Higgs Doublet Model (2HDM), can possess several accidental discrete symmetries whose spontaneous breakdown in the early universe usually lead to the formation of domain walls. We extend an earlier work [32] on this topic by studying in more detail the analytic properties of electrically charged and CP-violating kink solutions in the Z2symmetric 2HDM. We derive the complete set of equations of motion that describe the 1D…

Accidental symmetries in the scalar potential of the Standard Model extended with two Higgs triplets
The extension of the Standard Model (SM) with two Higgs triplets offers an appealing way to account for both tiny Majorana neutrino masses via the type-II seesaw mechanism and the cosmological
Stable $Z$-strings with topological polarization in two Higgs doublet model
We find that a Z-string is stable in a wide range of parameter space of the two Higgs doublet model due to a split into a pair of two topological Z-strings with fractional Z fluxes. This

Symmetries and topological defects of the two Higgs doublet model
The standard model of particle physics is the most precisely verified scientific theory in the history of mankind. However, extended theories are already in place, ready to supersede the standard
Vacuum topology of the two Higgs doublet model
We perform a systematic study of generic accidental Higgs-family and CP symmetries that could occur in the two-Higgs-doublet-model potential, based on a Majorana scalar-field formalism which realizes
Quartic coupling unification in the maximally symmetric 2HDM
We consider the Maximally Symmetric Two-Higgs Doublet Model (MS-2HDM) in which the so-called Standard Model (SM) alignment can be naturally realised as a consequence of an accidental SO(5) symmetry
Higgs bosons in the minimal supersymmetric standard model with explicit CP violation
We study the Higgs-boson mass spectrum of the minimal supersymmetric standard model, in which the tree-level CP invariance of the Higgs potential is broken explicitly by loop effects of
Theory and phenomenology of two-Higgs-doublet models
Abstract We discuss theoretical and phenomenological aspects of two-Higgs-doublet extensions of the Standard Model. In general, these extensions have scalar mediated flavour changing neutral currents
Charge asymmetry in two-Higgs doublet models
Abstract We discuss the features of a two-Higgs doublet model exhibiting a two stage phase transition. At finite temperatures electric charge violating stationary points are developed. In conjunction
CP violation conditions in N-Higgs-doublet potentials
Conditions for CP violation in the scalar potential sector of general N-Higgs-doublet models (NHDMs) are analyzed from a group theoretical perspective. For the simplest two-Higgs-doublet model (2HDM)
Maximally symmetric two Higgs doublet model with natural standard model alignment
A bstractWe study the Higgs mass spectrum as predicted by a Maximally Symmetric Two Higgs Doublet Model (MS-2HDM) potential based on the SO(5) group, softly broken by bilinear Higgs mass terms. We
Higgs pair productions in the CP-violating two-Higgs-doublet model
A bstractIn this work, we study the SM-like Higgs pair productions in the framework of the general CP-violating two-Higgs-doublet model. Several constraints are imposed to the model sequentially,
A Theory of Spontaneous T Violation
A theory of spontaneous T violation is presented. The total T and a gauge transformation (e.g., the hypercharge gauge), but the physical solutions are not. In addition to the spin-1 gauge field and
