We consider the C-metric as a gravitational field configuration that describes an accelerating black hole in the presence of a semi-infinite cosmic string, along the accelerating direction. We adopt the expression for the gravitational energy-momentum developed in the teleparallel equivalent of general relativity (TEGR) and obtain a possible explanation for the acceleration of the black hole. The gravitational energy enclosed by surfaces of constant radius around the black hole is evaluated… Expand

On gravitational radiation and the energy flux of matter
A suitable derivative of Einstein's equations in the framework of the teleparallel equivalent of general relativity (TEGR) yields a continuity equation for the gravitational energy-momentum. InExpand

Accelerating electromagnetic magic field from the C-metric

TLDR
For spherically symmetric spacetimes, it is shown that the quasilocal energy has the correct Newtonian limit, and includes a negative contribution due to gravitational binding. Expand
The gravitational energy‐momentum tensor and the gravitational pressure
In the framework of the teleparallel equivalent of general relativity it is possible to establish the energy-momentum tensor of the gravitational field. This tensor has the following essentialExpand
Interpreting the C-metric
The basic properties of the C-metric are well known. It describes a pair of causally separated black holes which accelerate in opposite directions under the action of forces represented by conicalExpand
The teleparallel equivalent of general relativity
A review of the teleparallel equivalent of general relativity is presented. It is emphasized that general relativity may be formulated in terms of the tetrad fields and of the torsion tensor, andExpand
The Gravitational energy momentum flux
We present a continuity equation for the gravitational energy–momentum, which is obtained in the framework of the teleparallel equivalent of general relativity. From this equation it follows aExpand
Length measurement in accelerated systems
We investigate the limitations of length measurements by accelerated observers in Minkowski spacetime brought about via the hypothesis of locality, namely, the assumption that an accelerated observerExpand
