On some species of Pandeleteius Schoenherr, 1834, in South America south of the tenth parallel (Coleoptera, Curculionidae: Entiminae: Tanymecini)

  title={On some species of Pandeleteius Schoenherr, 1834, in South America south of the tenth parallel (Coleoptera, Curculionidae: Entiminae: Tanymecini)},
  author={Anne T. Howden},
Three of the southernmost species of Pandeleteius (Coleoptera: Curculionidae) occurring south of the tenth parallel in South America are Pandeleteius griseus (Voss), P. platensis Brethes, and P. sahlbergi Howden, new species (type locality: Parana, Brazil). Diagnoses, descriptions and distributions are given for all three species. A neotype is designated for Pandeleteius griseus (Voss) and a lectotype is designated for Pandeleteius platensis Brethes. A key to the three species is provided.

Abstract Five new species of the genus Pandeleteius Schönherr from South America are described: Pandeleteius emarginatus Girón and Howden, new species, from Brazil; Pandeleteius genieri Girón andExpand
Systematic revision of the genus Isodacrys Sharp, 1911 (Coleoptera: Curculionidae: Entiminae: Tanymecini)
Insights into the monophyly of Isodacrys and its phylogenetic relationships with other Tanymecini based on adult morphology are given by implementing a phylogenetic analysis of 43 terminals coded for 72 adult morphological characters. Expand
Status of knowledge of the broad-nosed weevils of Colombia (Coleoptera, Curculionidae, Entiminae)
Broad-nosed weevils in the subfamily Entiminae (Coleoptera: Curculionidae) are highly diverse, not only in terms of number of species, but also in their sizes, forms and colours. There are eightExpand
A combined molecular and morphological approach to explore the higher phylogeny of Entimine weevils (Coleoptera: Curculionidae), with special reference to South American Taxa
The Entiminae are broad-nosed weevils constituting the most diverse subfamily of Curculionidae, with over 50 tribes. We performed Bayesian and Maximum Parsimony combined phylogenetic analyses withExpand
