Introduction and remarks. In the theory of ?la-sets three main theorems stand out: that an na-set is universal for totally ordered sets of power not exceeding Ma, that any two n,-sets of power Ma are isomorphic and that na-sets of power Ma exist provided Ma is a regular cardinal number and Ea 0.
