The paper presented demonstrates the calibration of a silicone membrane probe for measurement of hydrogen sulphide in liquid and gas phase. The probe is connected to a quadrupole mass spectrometer as detector. The calibration of the probe results in linear calibration functions for different liquids and the gas phase. An example of the application of the measuring device for on-line measurement is reported for an experiment where sulphide is precipitated as iron sulphide by the addition of…

Effects of chemical amendments on the lability and speciation of metals in anaerobically digested biosolids.
TLDR
Experiments were conducted to investigate whether the addition of iron- and aluminum-based amendments during the anaerobic digestion phase of wastewater treatment can effectively change the speciation or lability of contaminant metals in biosolids destined for use in agriculture.
An innovative intermittent-vacuum assisted thermophilic anaerobic digestion process for effective animal manure utilization and treatment.
TLDR
Intermittent-vacuum stripping-TAD combination could be an effective strategy to improve TAD efficiency, whose elution is more easily utilized in algae cultivation and/or hydroponic system.

TLDR
The results of this study showed that enhanced sulphidogenesis with sulphide inhibition control can maintain sulphate-reducing bacteria (SRB) in anaerobic reactor at low COD/SO(4)(2-) ratios between 1 and 2, with efficient simultaneous removal of COD and SO( 4)(2-).

TLDR
The results demonstrate that JPC can be used as sole substrate for anaerobic digestion up to an OLR of 2.4 gVS l−1 day−1 and the addition of IA has effectively decreased the H2S content in the biogas and has improved the stability of the an aerobic process and the biOGas quality.
Iron-enhanced anaerobic digestion of cyanobacterial biomass from Lake Chao
Abstract Effects of FeCl3 on anaerobic digestion of cyanobacterial biomass from Lake Chao, one of the most serious eutrophic freshwater lakes in China, were investigated. Results showed that FeCl3

TLDR
The outcome of competition at any time was a function of the rate of hydrogen production, the relative population sizes, and sulfate availability, and the lower half-saturation constant of sulfate reducers enabled them to inhibit methane production by lowering the hydrogen partial pressure below levels that methanogens could effectively utilize.
