We consider gauge invariant cosmological perturbations in UV-modified, z = 3 (non-projectable) Hořava gravity with one scalar matter field, which has been proposed as a renormalizable gravity theory without the ghost problem in four dimensions. In order to exhibit its dynamical degrees of freedom, we consider the Hamiltonian reduction method and find that, by solving all the constraint equations, the degrees of freedom are the same as those of Einstein gravity: one scalar and two tensor…

Birkhoff’s theorem in Hořava gravity

We study Birkhoff’s theorem, which states the absence of time-dependent and spherically symmetric vacuum solutions in four-dimensional Hořava gravity, which has been proposed as a renormalizable

Charged throats in the Hořava–Lifshitz theory

A spherically symmetric solution of the field equations of the Hořava–Lifshitz gravity–gauge vector interaction theory is obtained and analyzed. It describes a charged throat. The solution exists

Pure electromagnetic-gravitational interaction in Hořava–Lifshitz theory at the kinetic conformal point

We introduce the electromagnetic-gravitational coupling in the Hořava–Lifshitz framework, in $$3+1$$ 3 + 1 dimensions, by considering the Hořava–Lifshitz gravity theory in $$4+1$$ 4 + 1 dimensions at

Wave zone in the Hořava–Lifshitz theory at the kinetic-conformal point in the low energy regime

We show that in the Hořava–Lifshitz theory at the kinetic-conformal point, in the low energy regime, a wave zone for asymptotically flat fields can be consistently defined. In it, the physical

Anisotropic coupling of gravity and electromagnetism in Hořava-Lifshitz theory

We analyze the electromagnetic-gravity interaction in a pure Hořava-Lifshitz framework. To do so we formulate the Hořava-Lifshitz gravity in $4+1$ dimensions and perform a Kaluza-Klein reduction to

M ay 2 02 1 Gravitational waves in the anisotropic Hořava-Lifshitz theory

We show that in the anisotropic Hořava-Lifshitz gravity there is a well-defined wave zone where the physical degrees of freedom propagate according to a non-relativistic linear evolution equation of

Gravitational waves in Hořava-Lifshitz anisotropic gravity

We show that in the anisotropic Hořava-Lifshitz gravity there is a well-defined wave zone where the physical degrees of freedom propagate according to a non-relativistic linear evolution equation of

Tests of standard cosmology in Hořava gravity, Bayesian evidence for a closed universe, and the Hubble tension

We consider some background tests of standard cosmology in the context of Hořava gravity with different scaling dimensions for space and time, which has been proposed as a renormalizable,

The Hamiltonian dynamics of Hořava gravity

We consider the Hamiltonian formulation of Hořava gravity in arbitrary dimensions, which has been proposed as a renormalizable gravity model for quantum gravity without the ghost problem. We study

Cosmological perturbations in Hořava-Lifshitz gravity

We study cosmological perturbations in Horava-Lifshitz Gravity, a recently proposed potentially ultraviolet-complete quantum theory of gravity. We consider scalar metric fluctuations about a

Hořava–Lifshitz cosmology: a review

Here we review the basic construction and cosmological implications of a power-counting renormalizable theory of gravitation, recently proposed by Hořava. We explain that (i) at low energy this

Scale-invariant cosmological perturbations from Hořava-Lifshitz gravity without inflation

Based on the renormalizable theory of gravitation recently proposed by Ho?ava, we present a simple scenario to generate almost scale-invariant, super-horizon curvature perturbations. The anisotropic

Cosmological perturbations in a healthy extension of Hořava gravity

In Hořava's theory of gravity, Lorentz symmetry is broken in exchange for renormalizability, but the original theory has been argued to be plagued with problems associated with a new scalar mode

The black hole and cosmological solutions in IR modified Hořava gravity

Recently Ho?ava proposed a renormalizable gravity theory in four dimensions which reduces to Einstein gravity with a non-vanishing cosmological constant in IR but with improved UV behaviors. Here, I

Strong coupling in Horava gravity

By studying perturbations about the vacuum, we show that Horava gravity suffers from two different strong coupling problems, extending all the way into the deep infra-red. The first of these is

On the extra mode and inconsistency of Hořava gravity

We address the consistency of Hořava's proposal for a theory of quantum gravity from the low-energy perspective. We uncover the additional scalar degree of freedom arising from the explicit breaking

A new extension of Hořava-Lifshitz gravity and curing pathologies of the scalar graviton

We consider an extension of the Hořava-Lifshitz gravity with extra conformal symmetry by introducing a scalar field with higher order curvature terms. Relaxing the exact local Weyl symmetry, we

Perturbative instabilities in Hǒrava gravity

We investigate the scalar and tensor perturbations in Hořava gravity, with and without detailed balance, around a flat background. Once both types of perturbations are taken into account, it is

A complete analysis of linear cosmological perturbations in Ho\v{r}ava-Lifshitz gravity

We investigate the linear cosmological perturbations in Horava-Lifshitz gravity with a scalar field. Starting from the most general expressions of the metric perturbations as well as that of a
