A cross-layer optimisation solution to improve routing protocol performance for dense wireless sensor environment
Different proposed routing schemes for mobile ad hoc networks have been evaluated with respect to different mobility metrics. Mobility metrics applied for ad hoc protocol performance evaluations have been studied in this paper. Within an ad hoc network with unreliable links and connections, applying a precise mobility metric that captures the impact of mobility can lead to reliable results. In this paper a new mobility metric called link stability metric that can capture the random mobility of mobile nodes in an ad hoc network has been analysed in an environment with a random waypoint mobility model.
