Older people living in nursing homes or other community care facilities: registered nurses' views of their working situation and co-operation with family members.

Abstract

This Swedish study used a questionnaire to survey the opinions of registered nurses working with older people in a variety of community settings. Almost half the nurses were not satisfied with their working conditions, with increasing demand and limited resources being major factors. Female nurses were more likely than their male colleagues to believe that family members were a resource in caring for older people.
