The palm oil industry was developed to produce oleochemical products and derivates, such as surfactant, namely diethanolamide (DEA) and methyl ester sulfonate (MES).  The objective of this study is to produce a water based dispersant type from  two kinds of surfactants,  DEA and MES, then apply it to enhance bioemediation process.  Both surfactants were diluted in water to prepare solution of DEA and MES, respectively, then it were determined the critical micelle concentration.  The selected… Expand

Development of High Efficient and Low Toxic Oil Spill Dispersants based on Sorbitol Derivants Nonionic Surfactants and Glycolipid Biosurfactants
Dispersants, usually blending with several surfactants and a solvent, are used to enhance oil spill dispersion as small droplets in water column. Although there is growing acceptance of dispersantsExpand
Palm oil-based methyl ester sulphonate as an oil well stimulation agent
Methyl ester sulphonate (MES) is a surfactant (surface-active agent) that can reduce interfacial tension between water and oil. The compound can be diluted not only in water but also in oil. MESExpand
PALM OIL-BASED METHYL ESTER SULPHONATE PREMIXES FOR USE IN DISHWASHING LIQUIDS
We describe palm-based methyl ester sulphonate premixes, which are mixtures of methyl ester sulphonates (MES) and fatty alcohol ethoxylate sulphonates (FAES), and their application in liquidExpand
Influence of nonionic surfactants on bioavailability and biodegradation of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons
TLDR
The presence of the synthetic nonionic surfactants Triton X-100, Tergitol NPX, Brij 35, and Igepal CA-720 resulted not only in increased apparent solubilities but also in increased maximal rates of dissolution of crystalline naphthalene and phenanthrene, indicating that the dissolution rates were higher than the rates in the absence of surfactant. Fat mimetic capacity of Chlorella vulgaris biomass in oil-in-water food emulsions stabilized by pea protein
TLDR
Vegetable proteins proved to be good emulsifiers for food emulsions with dietetic advantages and the capacity of the biomass of the microalga Chlorella vulgaris as a fat mimetic capacity was evaluated. Expand
