In this study, Majorana fermions are rising as a promising key component in quantum computation. Although the prevalent approach is to use a quadratic (i.e., noninteracting) Majorana Hamiltonian, when expressed in terms of Dirac fermions, generically the Hamiltonian involves interaction terms. Here we focus on the possible pair correlations in a simple model system. We study a model of Majorana fermions coupled to a boson mode and show that the anomalous correlator between different Majorana…

A note on the path integral representation for Majorana fermions

Majorana fermions are currently of huge interest in the context of nanoscience and condensed matter physics. Different to usual fermions, Majorana fermions have the property that the particle is its

Odd-frequency Berezinskii superconductivity in Dirac semimetals

We formulate a general framework for addressing both odd- and even-frequency superconductivity in Dirac semimetals and demonstrate that the odd-frequency or the Berezinskii pairing can naturally

Odd-frequency superconducting pairing in one-dimensional systems

Odd-frequency superconductivity represents a truly unconventional ordered state which, in contrast to conventional superconductivity, exhibits pair correlations which are odd in relative time and,

Odd-frequency superconducting pairing in Kitaev-based junctions

We investigate odd-frequency superconducting correlations in normal-superconductor (NS) and short superconductor-normal-superconductor (SNS) junctions with the S region described by the Kitaev model

Gapless odd-frequency superconductivity induced by the Sachdev-Ye-Kitaev model

We show that a single-fermion quantum dot acquires odd-frequency Gor'kov anomalous averages in proximity to strongly correlated Majorana zero modes, described by the Sachdev-Ye-Kitaev (SYK) model.

Odd-frequency superconducting pairing in junctions with Rashba spin-orbit coupling

We consider NS and SNS junctions based on one-dimensional nanowires with Rashba spin-orbit coupling and proximity-induced $s$-wave spin singlet superconductivity and analytically demonstrate how both

Odd-frequency superconductivity

This article reviews odd-frequency (odd-w) pairing with focus on superconducting systems. Since Berezinskii introduced the concept of odd frequency order in 1974 it has been viewed as an exotic and

The Role of Odd‐Frequency Pairing in Multiband Superconductors

Recent progress in the understanding of multiband superconductivity and its relationship to odd‐frequency pairing are reviewed herein. The discussion begins by reviewing the emergence of

Quantum Pairing Time Orders

The concept of the time‐independent correlators for the even‐ and odd‐frequency pairing states that can be defined for both bosonic and fermionic quasiparticles is proposed. These correlators

Signatures of odd-frequency pairing in the Josephson junction current noise

Odd frequency (odd-$\omega$) electron pair correlations naturally appear at the interface between BCS superconductors and other materials. The detection of odd-$\omega$ pairs, which are necessarily
