5 their illness. The ocular complications of HIV is further expected to increase due to longer survival of patients with the advent of highly active antiretroviral therapy (HAART). Ocular manifestations of HIV can involve any ocular tissue and may indicate worsening of the underlying immune disorder. Early detection of ocular manifestations of AIDS is critical as it may be the first sign of disease in a previously healthy patient.
