This paper investigates the role of occupational structure in socioeconomic inequality, making a comparison between Brazil and the Unites States (US). Changes in the Brazilian and American occupational structures between 1983 and 2009 are studied in order to examine if the huge structural changes witnessed in this period led to a convergence between these labor structures.
