Occupational low back pain: prevention of chronic disability.

Abstract

Work-related low back pain is a major problem for both patients and employers. Although the cause of the pain is often unclear, patients failing to return to work within 3 to 6 months have a poor medical and economic prognoses. This article reviews issues relevant to the need for aggressive management of acute, work-related LBP cases.
