Small numbers of Platypodidae were collected in flight in sticky traps overs a period of 25 days in a Hoop Pine plantation near Bulolo in Papua New Guinea. Of the 15 species trapped, four were new and four others had not been previously recorded in the Bulolo area. The majority, 68.6%, of the 169 specimens collected were represented by Platypus solidus Walker which previously had been rarely collected in the Bulolo area.
