Current observational bounds on dark energy depend on our assumptions about the curvature of the universe. We present a simple and efficient method for incorporating constraints from cosmic microwave background (CMB) anisotropy data and use it to derive constraints on cosmic curvature and dark energy density as a free function of cosmic time using current CMB, Type Ia supernova (SN Ia), and baryon acoustic oscillation data. We show that there are two CMB shift parameters, R{identical_to…

Model-independent distance measurements from gamma-ray bursts and constraints on dark energy

Gamma-ray bursts (GRB) are the most energetic events in the Universe and provide a complementary probe of dark energy by allowing the measurement of cosmic expansion history that extends to redshifts

Decaying Dark Energy in Light of the Latest Cosmological Dataset

The results suggest that the accelerated expansion of the Universe is well described by the cosmological constant, and it is argued that forthcoming observations will play a determinant role to constrain/rule out decaying Dark Energy.

Probing dark energy dynamics from current and future cosmological observations

We report the constraints on the dark energy equation-of-state w(z) using the latest “Constitution” SNe sample combined with the WMAP5 and Sloan Digital Sky Survey data. Assuming a flat Universe, and

On the determination of curvature and dynamical dark energy

Constraining simultaneously the dark energy (DE) equation of state and the curvature of the universe is difficult due to strong degeneracies. To circumvent this problem when analyzing data it is

FIVE-YEAR WILKINSON MICROWAVE ANISOTROPY PROBE OBSERVATIONS: COSMOLOGICAL INTERPRETATION

The Wilkinson Microwave Anisotropy Probe (WMAP) 5-year data provide stringent limits on deviations from the minimal, six-parameter Λ cold dark matter model. We report these limits and use them to

Observational constraints on dark energy with a fast varying equation of state

We place observational constraints on models with the late-time cosmic acceleration based on a number of parametrizations allowing fast transitions for the equation of state of dark energy. In

Unparticle dark energy

We examine a dark energy model where a scalar unparticle degree of freedom plays the role of quintessence. In particular, we study a model where the unparticle degree of freedom has a standard

Observational constraints on dark energy with a fast varying equation of state

In this paper, we investigate a recent proposed model – so called the Tsallis holographic dark energy (THDE) model with consideration of the Hubble and the event future horizon as IR cutoffs. In this

Narrowing constraints with type Ia supernovae: converging on a cosmological constant

We apply a parameterization-independent approach to fitting the dark energy equation-of-state (EOS). Utilizing the latest type Ia supernova data, combined with results from the cosmic microwave
