We study the motion of ultra-cold atoms in an accelerating optical lattice. We find that the tunneling dynamics are strongly affected by repeated measurement during the non-exponential time, leading to either inhibition (zeno) or enhancement (anti-zeno) of decay.

Quantum Zeno Phenomena: Pulsed versus Continuous Measurement
The time evolution of an unstable quantum mechanical system coupled with an external measuring agent is investigated. According to the features of the interaction Hamiltonian, a quantum Zeno effect
Zeno and anti-Zeno effects in the presence of spin-chain environment
AbstractWe investigate the quantum Zeno and anti-Zeno effects in a two-state system coupling to a spin chain environment in transverse magnetic fields. The effective decay rate affected by the
Quantum Zeno control of decoherence
We demonstrate the possibility of controlling the quantum to classical transition by means of the quantum Zeno and anti-Zeno effects. We consider a quantum harmonic oscillator initially prepared in a
Spatial quantum Zeno effect
The quantum Zeno effect is usually discussed in the context of temporal evolution of a quantum state. We investigate its counterpart in the spatial context and present a general criterion for the
Zeno and anti-Zeno effects in a dissipative quantum Brownian oscillator model
The purpose of this paper is to investigate the occurrence of the Zeno and anti-Zeno effects for the quantum Brownian motion of a harmonic oscillator. We show a controlled decay suppression and decay
Zeno and anti-Zeno effect for a two-level system in a squeezed bath (8 pages)
We discuss the appearance of Zeno or anti-Zeno effects in an exponentially decaying system. We consider the quantum dynamics of a continuously monitored two level system interacting with a squeezed
Inverse quantum Zeno effect in quantum oscillations
It is shown that inverse quantum Zeno effect (IZE) could exist in a three-level system with Rabi oscillations between discrete atomic states. An experiment to observe IZE in such a system is proposed.
Impact of independent reservoirs on the quantum Zeno and anti-Zeno effects.
In this paper, we look into what happens to a quantum system under repeated measurements if it interacts with two independent reservoirs. In particular, we look at the behavior of a two-level system
Quantum Zeno effect in an unstable system with NMR
We theoretically propose a scheme for verification of quantum Zeno effect (QZE) to suppress a decay process with Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR). Nuclear spins are affected by low frequency noise,
Quantum Zeno subspaces induced by temperature
We discuss the partitioning of the Hilbert space of a quantum system induced by the interaction with another system at thermal equilibrium, showing that the higher the temperature the more effective
