We establish the existence of the top quark using a 67 pb^-1 data sample of Pbar-P collisions at Sqrt(s) = 1.8 TeV collected with the Collider Detector at Fermilab (CDF). Employing techniques similar to those we previously published, we observe a signal consistent with t-tbar decay to WW b-bbar, but inconsistent with the background prediction by 4.8 sigma. Additional evidence for the top quark is provided by a peak in the reconstructed mass distribution. We measure the top quark mass to be 176… Expand

Observation of single top-quark production.
We report observation of the electroweak production of single top quarks in pp[over ] collisions at sqrt[s]=1.96 TeV based on 2.3 fb(-1) of data collected by the D0 detector at the Fermilab TevatronExpand
Observation of the associated production of a single top quark and a W boson in pp collisions at sqrt[s] = 8 TeV.
The first observation of the associated production of a single top quark and a W boson is presented, with a significance which corresponds to 6.1 standard deviations above a background-only hypothesis. Expand
Extracting the top-quark running mass using tt̄ + 1-jet events produced at the Large Hadron Collider

This paper presents a direct measurement of the decay width of the top quark using t t ̄ events in the lepton+jets final state. The data sample was collected by the ATLAS detector at the LHC inExpand
Search for s-channel single top-quark production in pp collisions
A search for single top-quark production in the s channel in proton-proton collisions at a centreof-mass energy of 8 TeV by the CMS detector at the LHC is presented. Leptonic decay modes of the topExpand
Analytic Mass Reconstruction of Top-Antitop Resonances in the Dilepton Channel at ATLAS
Many theories beyond the Standard Model predict new massive particles that decay preferentially to top-antitop quark pairs. This thesis investigates the dilepton final state where both W bosons fromExpand
Results on Top physics from CMS
After the discovery of the top quark more than 20 years ago, top quark production cross sections have been meticulously studied. The rich variety of results from the LHC experiments are complementedExpand
Measurement of single top production in the tW channel and search for s channel in pp collisions
Measurements of single top quark production in the tW and s channels in pp collisions are presented, based on data collected in 2012 at a centre-of-mass energy of 8 TeV. In the tW channel a top quarkExpand
Measurement of the W boson helicity in events with a single reconstructed top quark in pp collisions at s=8$$\sqrt{s}=8$$ TeV
A bstractA measurement of the W boson helicity is presented, where the W boson originates from the decay of a top quark produced in pp collisions. The event selection, optimized for reconstructing aExpand
