From the reaction pi /sup plus or minus / yields mu /sup plus or minus / + ( nu / nu /sup -/), it is dem onstrated that the neutrinos produce mu mesons but not electrons and are likely to be different from the neutrinos involved in beta decay. Approximate cross sections are determined. (L.N.N.)

Current high energy neutrino experiments

In the universe of elementary particles the neutrino is unique in that — as far as we know — it interacts with other particles only through the Fermi or weak interaction. Cross sections for neutrino

The Early Days of Experimental Neutrino Physics

The neutrino hypothesis, put forward by Pauli to account for the apparent loss of energy and momentum in beta decay, was verified by a series of measurements at a nuclear reactor nearly 25 years ago.

Remark on the mass of the muonic neutrino

The isotropic electron spectrum from mu+ meson decay is given for an electronic neutrino mass not identically zero, extending the usefuiness of the electron spectrum method for determining the mass

Neutrinos Study of Neutrino Oscillation with the Super-Kamiokande Detector

Since the discovery of the atmospheric neutrino oscillation in 1998, various properties of neutrino, a very light and elusive particle, have been revealed. In this article, the recent progress of

Lectures on Neutrino Physics

The studies of the intrinsic nature of neutrinos as elementary particles, their interactions, and their important use as probes of hadron structure have been extremely important over the past two

Properties of the lepton radiation formed by neutrinos interacting with matter

The production probability is calculated via the longitudinal and transverse polarization states of the lepton for the (V, A) model of the weak four-fermion interaction. Special attention is given to

Direct probes of neutrino mass

Search for the Neutrino Mass and Low Energy Neutrino Astronomy

The history of neutrinos is strongly coupled with the understanding of weak interactions, which in turn rules energy production in stars. Thus there is a important interplay of nuclear-, particle and

Do neutrinos have mass

Limits on neutrino masses are discussed, both from kinematical considerations (3-body weak decays, etc.) and from dynamical neutrino mass effects (oscillations). The Dirac versus Majorana question is
