Cinereomyces clade is a newly proposed monophyletic group of polypores containing currently four genera and five species, including two promising biopulping fungi, Ceriporiopsis rivulosa and C. subvermispora. The Cinereomyces clade is well-delimited in nrDNA-based phylogenetic analysis, but its position in Polyporales remains unclear. Its closest relative may be found in the core polyporoid clade. Only a few morphological characters are common for all the species in the clade, e.g. CB– and CRB…

Leifiporia rhizomorpha gen. et sp. nov. and L. eucalypti comb. nov. in Polyporaceae (Basidiomycota)

Investigation for more representative taxa in the Polyporaceae based on nLSU sequences demonstrated that the genus Leifiporia formed a monophyletic lineage with a strong support, and morphological and molecular evidence confirmed the placement of the new genus in the core polyporoid clade.

Fragiliporiaceae, a new family of Polyporales (Basidiomycota)

The phylogenetic analysis shows that Fragilipori fragilis sp.

Elaphroporia ailaoshanensis gen. et sp. nov. in Polyporales (Basidiomycota)

Investigation of representative taxa in the Meruliaceae based on ITS+nLSU sequences demonstrated that the genus Elaphroporia formed a monophyletic lineage with a strong support and was grouped with Flaviporus and Steccherinum.

Ceriporiopsis kunmingensis sp. nov. (Polyporales, Basidiomycota) evidenced by morphological characters and phylogenetic analysis

Both morphological and molecular characters confirmed the placement of the new species in Ceriporiopsis, and showed that C. kunmingensis belonged to the phlebioid clade, formed a monophyletic lineage with a strong support, and was closely related to Phlebia aurea and then grouped with P. livida and P. subserialis.

Crepatura ellipsospora gen. et sp. nov. in Phanerochaetaceae (Polyporales, Basidiomycota) bearing a tuberculate hymenial surface

The phylogenetic analyses based on molecular data of ITS+nLSU sequences showed that Crepatura belonged to the Phanerochaetaceae family and nested into the Donkia clade and phylogenetically was closely related to Pirex concentricus.

Phlebiopsis yunnanensis sp. nov. (Polyporales, Basidiomycota) evidenced by morphological characters and phylogenetic analysis

Both morphological and molecular characters confirmed the placement of the new species in Ceriporiopsis, and showed that C. kunmingensis belonged to the phlebioid clade, formed a monophyletic lineage with a strong support, and was closely related to Phlebia aurea.

Comprehensive taxon sampling reveals unaccounted diversity and morphological plasticity in a group of dimitic polypores (Polyporales, Basidiomycota)

The phylogeny of the poroid and hydnoid genera Antrodiella, Junghuhnia, and Steccherinum was studied utilizing sequences of the gene regions ITS, nLSU, mtSSU, atp6, rpb2, and tef1 to show that most species of these genera form a well supported clade in the Polyporales.

Skeletocutis mopanshanensis sp. nov. (Polyporales, Basidiomycota) evidenced by morphological characters and phylogenetic analysis

The phylogenetic analysis based on molecular data of ITS+nLSU sequences showed that Skeletocutis mopanshanensis belonged to the tyromyces clade, formed a monophyletic lineage with a strong support and was closely related to S. yunnanensis, and then grouped with S. portcrosensis and S. sp with a lower support.

Flammeopellis bambusicola gen. et. sp. nov. (Polyporales, Basidiomycota) evidenced by morphological characters and phylogenetic analysis

The morphological and molecular evidence confirmed the placement of the new genus in the core polyporoid clade and established its relationships with similar genera.

Perenniporiopsis, a New Polypore Genus Segregated from Perenniporia (Polyporales)

Morphologically, the consistency of the basidiocarps, waxy when fresh, drying rigidly osseous, as well as the large basidiospores characterize this species and distinguish it from Perenniporia s.s. nov.
