The control of multi-joint movements involve complex kinematic and dynamic issues which do not arise in the case of single-joint movements. This thesis explores these issues, in the context of human planar two-joint arm movements. Kinematic features of planar arm movements indicate that the spatial trajectory of the hand, is explicitly specified, and that there exist some relation between speed and form of movement.
