This demonstration concerns system development methodologies and their supporting CASE products. The Object-Process Methodology (OPM) integrates system structure and behavior within one model and manages complexity through a scaling mechanism that controls the visibility of things in the system. The demonstration presented OPM principles and it application through OPCAT - Object-Process CASE Tool - the product that supports OPM.

The comprehensive, unambiguous treatment of this basic electronic commerce process is formal, yet intuitive and clear, suggesting that OPM is a prime candidate for becoming a common standard vehicle for defining, specifying, and analyzing electronic commerce and supply chain management systems.

The object-process diagram (OPD) is presented as an effective visualization tool that incorporates elements from both DFD and OOA, and due to synergy, both the information content and expressive power of OPD are greater than those of DFD or OOA diagrams combined.

From object-process analysis to object-process design

This work focuses on the transition from object-process analysis to design within the development of information systems, and uses a detailed case study as a running example to demonstrate how the structure-behavior unification, which characterizes object- Process analysis, is carried on to object- process design.

Extending the Object-Process Methodology to Handle Real-Time Systems

OPM/T is presented, as an extension of OPM for specification of reactive and real-time systems, to express such notions as timing constraints, events, conditions, exceptions, and control flow constructs.

System modeling of the R&D domain through the object–process methodology: a practical tool to help R&D satisfy its customers' needs

The object-process analysis (OPA) part of the object–process methodology is employed to establish a sound methodology for R&D performance evaluation and provides insights into both the static and dynamic aspects of theR&D domain and establishes a solid basis for its enterprise modeling.
