title={ON THE INEVITABILITY AND THE POSSIBLE STRUCTURES OF SUPERCIVILIZATIONS},
  author={Nikolai Semenovich Kardashev},

Since civilizations face always problems that require continuously greater activity, it si likely that supercivilizations will undertake activities and construct structures of a very large scale. Properties and means of detecgions of such superstructures and activities are discussed. We also examine six possible scenarios on the evolution of civilizations.

Persistence of Technosignatures: A Comment on Lingam and Loeb.

TLDR
Two ways in which Lingam and Loeb's heuristic for searches for biosignatures versus technosignatures could be extended and sharpened, with focus on durability of technOSignatures.

Pangaea II - The Project of the Global Age

This essay theorizes that the domestication of Earth and humankind is the project of the global age. It reviews the deep historical nexus between energy transitions, carrying capacity, and population

A scale is described for classifying civilizations according to the amount of power they produce, using the whole numbers 0 through 4 to denote 106, 1016, 1026, 1036, and 1046 W corresponding to the

Copernicanism and the typicality in time

Abstract How special (or not) is the epoch we are living in? What is the appropriate reference class for embedding the observations made at the present time? How probable – or else – is anything we

Heritage of the Kepler mission: Special object KIC 8462852 and criticism of the cometary hypothesis

Paradoxical properties of the KIC 8462852 object discovered in the course the Kepler mission are considered. It has been shown that the assumptions about the nature of the object as a swarm of

Type III Dyson Sphere of Highly Advanced Civilizations around a Super Massive Black Hole

We describe a new system for a society of highly advanced civilizations around a super massive black hole (SMBH), as an advanced Type III "Dyson Sphere", pointing out an efficient usage of energy for

Extraterrestrial Intelligence: Friends, Foes, or Just Curious?

For over 50 years, scientists involved in the Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence (SETI) have searched for evidence of alien civilizations, and several messages have been transmitted into space

TLDR
This chapter attempts to encompass and tackle a large problem in Astrovirology and Astrobiology: coming to an understanding of the plurality of extraterrestrial intelligence is an optimal objective, in order to avoid causing harm on exoplanets, as well as avoiding conflict and possible human devastation.

Search for Artificial Stellar Sources of Infrared Radiation

TLDR
It is proposed that a search for sources of infrared radiation should accompany the recently initiated search for interstellar radio communications.

Optimal wavelength region for communication with extraterrestrial intelligence: λ = 1.5 mm

This article shows that the best capability and reliability of communication at astronomical distances can be achieved at millimetre wavelengths. The cost of communication, and the number of
