The genome of the attenuated 17D-204 yellow fever vaccine is a single stranded RNA composed of 10862 nucleon'des. The sequence derived from the 17D-204 strain supplied by the American type culture collection (ATCC) was first published by Rice et al. (1). Independently, we have cloned the genome of the Pasteur 17D-204 vaccine. Partial sequences were reported (2,3). We have now completed the sequence by the classical method (4).
