We present a comprehensive mean-field calculation of the Schiff moment of the nucleus 225Ra, the quantity that determines the static electric-dipole moment of the corresponding atom if time-reversal (T) invariance is violated in the nucleus. The calculation breaks all possible intrinsic symmetries of the nuclear mean field and includes, in particular, both exchange and direct terms from the full finite-range T-violating nucleon-nucleon interaction, and the effects of short-range correlations…

Maximal electric dipole moments of nuclei with enhanced Schiff moments
• Physics
• 2011
The electric dipole moments (EDMs) of heavy nuclei, such as 199Hg, 225Ra and 211Rn, can be enhanced by the Schiff moments induced by the presence of nearby parity-doublet states. Working within the
Is it possible to enhance the nuclear Schiff moment by nuclear collective modes?
• Physics
• 2007
The nuclear Schiff moment is predicted to be enhanced in nuclei with static quadrupole and octupole deformation. The analogous suggestion of the enhanced contribution to the Schiff moment from the
Nuclear Schiff moment in nuclei with soft octupole and quadrupole vibrations
• Physics
• 2006
Nuclear forces violating parity and time reversal invariance (P,T-odd) produce P,T-odd nuclear moments, for example, the nuclear Schiff moment. In turn, this moment can induce the electric dipole
Screening of nucleon electric dipole moments in atomic systems
The electric dipole moments (EDMs) of diamagnetic atoms are expected to be sensitive to charge-parity violation, particularly in nuclei through the nuclear Schiff moment. I explicitly demonstrate
Fully self-consistent calculations of nuclear Schiff moments
• Physics
• 2010
We calculate the Schiff moments of the nuclei $^{199}\mathrm{Hg}$ and $^{211}\mathrm{Rn}$ in completely self-consistent odd-nucleus mean-field theory by modifying the Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov code
Lorentz-violating contributions to the nuclear Schiff moment and nuclear EDM.
• Physics
• 2018
In the context of an atom endowed with nuclear EDM, we consider the effects on the Schiff moment of $CPT$-even Lorentz-violating (LV) terms that modify the Coulomb potential. First, we study the
Screening effect of nucleon electric dipole moments in atomic system
We examine the screening effect of nucleon electric dipole moments (EDMs) and the nuclear EDM in an atom. The interactions of the nucleon EDMs with the electrons and protons induce the atomic EDM
Review of the electric dipole moment of light nuclei
In this review, we summarize the theoretical development on the electric dipole moment of light nuclei. We first describe the nucleon level CP violation and its parametrization. We then present the
