The transverse profile dependence of elliptic flow is studied in a parton cascade model. We compare results from the binary scaling profile to results from the wounded nucleon scaling profile. The impact parameter dependence of elliptic flow is shown to depend sensitively on the transverse profile of initial particles, however, if elliptic flow is plotted as a function of the relative multiplicity, the nuclear profile dependence disappears. The insensitivity was found previously in a…

Elliptic flow from a parton cascade
Abstract The dependence of elliptic flow at RHIC energies on the effective parton scattering cross section is calculated using the ZPC parton cascade model. We show that the v2 measure of elliptic
The physics of the centrality dependence of elliptic flow
Abstract The centrality dependence of elliptic flow and how it is related to the physics of expansion of the system created in high energy nuclear collisions is discussed. Since in the hydro limit
Elliptic flow and freeze-out from the parton cascade MPC
Differential elliptic flow out to p? ∼ 5 GeV/c and particle spectra are calculated using the MPC elastic parton cascade model for Au+Au at Ecm ∼ 130 A GeV. The evolution is computed from parton
Elliptic flow from minijet production in heavy ion collisions
Abstract We calculate the contribution to the elliptic flow observable v 2 from two-particle correlations in minijet production in ultrarelativistic heavy ion collisions. We use a minijet production
Centrality dependence of multiplicity, transverse energy, and elliptic flow from hydrodynamics
Abstract The centrality dependence of the charged multiplicity, transverse energy, and elliptic flow coefficient is studied in a hydrodynamic model, using a variety of different initializations which
Highly Sensitive Centrality Dependence of Elliptic Flow -- A Novel Signature of the Phase Transition in QCD
Elliptic flow of the hot, dense system which has been created in nucleus-nucleus collisions develops as a response to the initial azimuthal asymmetry of the reaction region. Here it is suggested that
Partonic effects on the elliptic flow at relativistic heavy ion collisions
The elliptic flow in heavy ion collisions at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider is studied in a multiphase transport model. By converting the strings in the high energy density regions into partons,
ELLIPTICAL FLOW : A SIGNATURE FOR EARLY PRESSURE IN ULTRARELATIVISTIC NUCLEUS-NUCLEUS COLLISIONS
Elliptical energy flow in noncentral Au(11.7AGeV) on Au reactions is studied comparing results obtained in two different modes of the relativistic quantum molecular dynamics approach (mean field and
Flow at the SPS and RHIC as a quark-gluon plasma signature.
TLDR
With the EOS fixed from SPS data, predictions at RHIC are quantified where the quark-gluon plasma (QGP) pressure is expected to drive additional radial and elliptic flows and the strong elliptic flow observed in the first RHIC measurements does not conclusively signal this nascent QGP pressure.
Saturation of elliptic flow and the transport opacity of the gluon plasma at RHIC
Abstract Differential elliptic flow and particle spectra are calculated taking into account the finite transport opacity of the gluon plasma produced in Au+Au at E cm ∼130 A GeV at RHIC. Covariant
