The notochordal-basichondrocranium relationships have been investigated in cranioschisis occulta with encephalocoele (CSO-EN) and in cranioschisis aperta with exencephaly (CSA-EX) which represent, respectively, a minimal and a severe form of experimentally induced axial skeletal (dysraphic) disorders.
