}The stout sand snake Psammophis longifrons is one of the poorly known and little studied endemic species from India. We provide new information on distribution, localities and natural history of the species on the basis of twelve snakes that were rescued from various sites in Gujarat State. Four specimens were studied and examined in detail. A gravid female laid eight fertile eggs in the month of April.
