Introduction There is no typical picture of a child with a learning disability. Learning-disabled children show a range of learning styles and present diverse areas of strengths and weaknesses. The term “learning disability,” which originated in the early 1960s, was used to describe children with normal intelligence who were not achieving adequately in the usual educational settings.
