We construct smooth nonsupersymmetric soliton solutions with D1-brane, D5-brane, and momentum charges in type IIB supergravity compactified on ${T}^{4}\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}{S}^{1}$, with the charges along the compact directions. This generalizes previous studies of smooth supersymmetric solutions. The solutions are obtained by considering a known family of $U(1)\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}U(1)$ invariant metrics, and studying the conditions imposed by requiring smoothness. We… Expand

Smooth non-extremal D1-D5-P solutions as charged gravitational instantons
A bstractWe present an alternative and more direct construction of the non-super-symmetric D1-D5-P supergravity solutions found by Jejjala, Madden, Ross and Titchener. We show that these solutions —Expand
Geometry of non-supersymmetric three-charge bound states - eScholarship
We study the smooth non-supersymmetric three-charge microstates of Jejjala, Madden, Ross and Titchener using Kaluza-Klein reductions of the solutions to five and four dimensions. Our aim is toExpand

Correlation functions in the D1-D5 orbifold CFT
A bstractThe D1-D5 system has an orbifold point in its moduli space, at which it may be described by an N$$ \mathcal{N} $$ = (4,4) supersymmetric sigma model with target space MN/S(N) where M is T4$$Expand
Non-extremal superdescendants of the D1D5 CFT

Instability of nonsupersymmetric smooth geometries
Recently certain nonsupersymmetric solutions of type IIb supergravity were constructed [V. Jejjala, O. Madden, S. F. Ross, and G. Titchener, Phys. Rev. D 71, 124030 (2005).], which are everywhereExpand
Non-supersymmetric, multi-center solutions with topological flux

Multi-centered D1-D5 solutions at finite B-moduli
A bstractWe study the fate of two-centered D1-D5 systems on T4 away from the singular supergravity point in the moduli space. We do this by considering a background D1-D5 black hole with a self-dualExpand
String dynamics in NS5-F1-P geometries
A bstractString theory dynamics on certain fivebrane supertube backgrounds is described by an exactly solvable null-gauged WZW model. We use this description to compute the spectrum of closed stringExpand

U(1) Charges and Moduli in the D1-D5 System
The decoupling limit of the D1-D5 system compactified on T^4\times S^1 has a rich spectrum of U(1) charged excitations. Even though these states are not BPS in the limit, BPS considerations determineExpand
Supersymmetric Kaluza-Klein reductions of AdS backgrounds
