We discuss the problem of finding a Lorentz invariant extension of Bohmian mechanics. Due to the nonlocality of the theory there is (for systems of more than one particle) no obvious way to achieve such an extension. We present a model invariant under a certain limit of Lorentz transformations, a limit retaining the characteristic feature of relativity, the nonexistence of absolute time, i.e., of simultaneity. The analysis of this model exemplifies an important property of any Bohmian quantum…

Classical and Non-relativistic Limits of a Lorentz-Invariant Bohmian Model for a System of Spinless Particles
- Physics
- 2010
A completely Lorentz-invariant Bohmian model has been proposed recently for the case of a system of non-interacting spinless particles, obeying Klein-Gordon equations. It is based on a multi-temporal…

Abstract
Bohmian mechanics provides an explanation of quantum phenomena in terms of point-like
particles guided by wave functions. This review focuses on the use of nonrelativistic

In this paper we intend to extend some ideas of a recently proposed Lorentz-invariant Bohmian model, obeying Klein-Gordon equations, but considering particles with a spin different than zero. First…

Bosonic and fermionic particle currents can be introduced in a more unified way, with the cost of introducing a preferred spacetime foliation. Such a unified treatment of bosons and fermions…

This paper provides a framework in terms of an appropriate conditional density matrix and an effective wave function as well as clarify their relation, thereby generalizing previous subsystem descriptions in the non-relativistic case.
Relativistic Model for Gravity-Induced Quantum State Reduction
- Physics
- 2009
A Lorentz invariant model for gravity-induced quantum state reduction is presented, which is mainly developed from Penrose's argument that the time translation operator in a superposition of…
Can Bohmian mechanics be made relativistic?
- PhysicsProceedings of the Royal Society A: Mathematical, Physical and Engineering Sciences
- 2014
It is argued that the possibility that, instead of positing it as extra structure, the required foliation could be covariantly determined by the wave function allows for the formulation of Bohmian theories that seem to qualify as fundamentally Lorentz invariant.

In non-relativistic Bohmian mechanics the universe is represented by a probability space whose sample space is composed of the Bohmian trajectories. In relativistic Bohmian mechanics an entire class…
