Nonlocality is an interesting topic in quantum physics and is usually mediated by some unique quantum states. Here we investigate a Weyl semimetal slab and find an exotic nonlocal correlation effect when placing two potential wells merely on the top and bottom surfaces. This correlation arises from the peculiar Weyl orbit in Weyl semimetals and is a consequence of the bulk-boundary correspondence in topological band theory. A giant nonlocal transport signal and a body breakdown by Weyl fermions…

Cycling Fermi arc electrons with Weyl orbits
The Weyl orbit refers to a new type of cyclotron orbit recently proposed in Weyl semimetals. This is a surface–bulk hybrid orbit that can be modulated by thickness and external fields. Recently, the
Quantum Hall effect in wedge-shaped samples
The quantum Hall effect (QHE) is broadly studied in the films of semiconductors, conductors, topological insulators, and topological semimetals. Wedge-shaped samples, guaranteeing the uniform

A Weyl Fermion semimetal with surface Fermi arcs in the transition metal monopnictide TaAs class
TLDR
The results show that in the TaAs-type materials the WeylSemimetal state does not depend on fine-tuning of chemical composition or magnetic order, which opens the door for the experimental realization of Weyl semimetals and Fermi arc surface states in real materials.
Chirality-dependent electron transport in Weyl semimetal p–n–p junctions
Recently discovered Weyl semimetals have received considerable research interest due to the exotic Weyl fermion-like excitations and the nontrivial π Berry phase near the band degenerate points. Here
Discovery of a Weyl fermion semimetal and topological Fermi arcs
TLDR
The experimental discovery of a Weyl semimetal, tantalum arsenide (TaAs), using photoemission spectroscopy, which finds that Fermi arcs terminate on the Weyl fermion nodes, consistent with their topological character.
Experimental discovery of Weyl semimetal TaAs
Weyl semimetals are a class of materials that can be regarded as three-dimensional analogs of graphene breaking time reversal or inversion symmetry. Electrons in a Weyl semimetal behave as Weyl
Unpaired Majorana fermions in quantum wires
Certain one-dimensional Fermi systems have an energy gap in the bulk spectrum while boundary states are described by one Majorana operator per boundary point. A finite system of length L possesses
Quantum Hall effect based on Weyl orbits in Cd3As2
TLDR
Evidence of a new type of quantum Hall effect, based on Weyl orbits in nanostructures of the three-dimensional topological semimetal Cd3As2, is reported, which finds that the quantum Hall transport is strongly modulated by the sample thickness.
Evolution of Weyl orbit and quantum Hall effect in Dirac semimetal Cd3As2
TLDR
The evolution of Shubnikov-de Haas oscillations in Dirac semimetal Cd3As2 nanoplates along with a quantum Hall state possibly arising from such Weyl orbit is reported, indicating the dominant role of surface transport.
Quantum oscillations from generic surface Fermi arcs and bulk chiral modes in Weyl semimetals
TLDR
A ‘magic’ magnetic-field angle is identified where quantum oscillations become independent of sample thickness, with striking experimental implications, and the high-field oscillations are expected to persist in samples whose thickness parametrically exceeds the quantum mean free path.
Fractional charge and spin states in topological insulator constrictions
We theoretically investigate the properties of two-dimensional topological insulator constrictions both in the integer and fractional regimes. In the presence of a perpendicular magnetic field, the
Wormhole Effect in a Strong Topological Insulator
An infinitely thin solenoid carrying magnetic flux $\ensuremath{\Phi}$ (a ``Dirac string'') inserted into an ordinary band insulator has no significant effect on the spectrum of electrons. In a
