This paper reports experimental and numerical results of the deformation of a ferrofluid droplet on a superhydrophobic surface under the effect of a uniform magnetic field. A water-based ferrofluid droplet surrounded by immiscible mineral oil was stretched by a magnetic field parallel to the substrate surface. The results show that an increasing flux density increases the droplet width and decreases the droplet height. A numerical model was established to study the equilibrium shape of the…
Numerical Simulation of a Falling Ferrofluid Droplet in a Uniform Magnetic Field by the VOSET Method
This article presents a two-dimensional numerical simulation of the dynamics of a ferrofluid droplet falling in a non-magnetic fluid under a uniform magnetic field. A new interface tracking method
Deformation of a ferrofluid droplet in simple shear flows under uniform magnetic fields
We numerically investigate the deformation and orientation of a ferrofluid droplet in a simple shear flow under a uniform magnetic field. The numerical simulation is based on the finite element
Deformation of a Sheared Magnetic Droplet in a Viscous Fluid
A fully three-dimensional numerical study of the dynamics and field-induced deformation of a sheared, superparamagnetic ferrofluid droplet immersed in a Newtonian viscous fluid is presented. The

TLDR
The magnetic field was found to enhance the critical Bond number at which sliding begins on a tilting substrate but suppress the critical Weber number atWhich sliding begins in a moderate Reynolds number channel flow.
Levitation of non-magnetizable droplet inside ferrofluid
The central theme of this work is that a stable levitation of a denser non-magnetizable liquid droplet, against gravity, inside a relatively lighter ferrofluid – a system barely considered in

Magnetowetting and sliding motion of a sessile ferrofluid droplet in the presence of a permanent magnet.
TLDR
The experimental results of the shape, contact angles, and motion of ferrofluid droplets driven by a permanent magnet on a planar homogeneous surface are reported.
Field-induced motion of ferrofluid droplets through immiscible viscous media
The motion of a hydrophobic ferrofluid droplet placed in a viscous medium and driven by an externally applied magnetic field is investigated numerically in an axisymmetric geometry. Initially, the
Numerical modeling of the equilibrium shapes of a ferrofluid drop in an external magnetic field

Modeling bubbles and droplets in magnetic fluids.
TLDR
A volume of fluid (VOF) type code is developed and test and applied for the direct numerical simulation of two-fluid configurations of magnetic fluids with dynamic interfaces, finding that bubbles become more prolate than droplets under the same parameters and are accordingly found to break up more readily than Droplets in stronger fields.
The shape of a magnetic liquid drop
The electromagnetic forces in a ferrofluid depend on the domain occupied by the fluid. We study here the equilibrium positions of a ferrofluid drop with a boundary which is partially or totally free.
