We discuss nonlinear relaxation processes of the one-component Ginzburg-Landau field that occur near the critical point after a sudden change in temperature or in the symmetry breaking field. A universal form of the equation of motion for the order parameter at the one-loop level is derived and integrated for several cases of interest. From the results some characteristic universal amplitude ratios can be extracted.
