We point that any theoretically found value for an electromagnetic multipole of a baryon or a meson should be subjected to ``renormalization'' due to nonlinearity of QED. We find third-power nonlinear corrections to the Coulomb and other static electric fields, as well as to the electric and magnetic dipole fields, as we work within QED with no background field. The nonlinear response function on which we base our consideration is the fourth-rank polarization tensor, calculated within the local…

Nonlinearity in Electro- and Magneto-statics with and without External Field

Due to the nonlinearity of QED, a static charge becomes a magnetic dipole if placed in a magnetic field. Already without external field, the cubic Maxwell equation for the field of a point charge has

Coulomb field in a constant electromagnetic background

Nonlinear Maxwell equations are written up to the third-power deviations from a constant-field background, valid within any local nonlinear electrodynamics including QED with a Euler-Heisenberg (EH)

Magnetic response from constant backgrounds to Coulomb sources

Within general nonlinear electrodynamics given by a local action, very special magnetic field configuration carrying no magnetic charge is found as a linear response of the vacuum, filled with

Finite field-energy of a point charge in QED

We consider a simple nonlinear (quartic in the fields) gauge-invariant modification of classical electrodynamics, to show that it possesses a regularizing ability sufficient to make the field energy

Magnetic response to applied electrostatic field in external magnetic field

We show, within QED and other possible nonlinear theories, that a static charge localized in a finite domain of space becomes a magnetic dipole, if it is placed in an external (constant and

Discreteness of Point Charge in Nonlinear Electrodynamics

We consider two point charges in electrostatic interaction between them within the framework of a nonlinear model, associated with QED, that provides finiteness of their field energy. We argue that

Interaction between two point-like charges in nonlinear electrostatics

We consider two point-like charges in electrostatic interaction within the framework of a nonlinear model, associated with QED, that provides finiteness of their field energy. We find the common

High-order QED correction impacts on phase transition of the Euler-Heisenberg AdS black hole

Two-phase transition branches of the Euler-Heisenberg (EH) anti-de Sitter (AdS) black hole (BH) were derived from its phase transition critical behavior by Magos et al. [Phys. Rev. D. 102, 084011

Kinematics and Selection Rules for Light-by-Light Scattering in a Strong Magnetic Field

Selection rules that follow from parity and four-momentum conservation are listed for head-on light-by-light scattering in a strong magnetic field taking into account nontrivial dispersion laws of

Thermodynamics of charged A(dS) black holes with quadratically-extended electrodynamics

In this paper, the Einstein-nonlinear electromagnetic theory has been studied in the four-dimensional de Sitter (dS) and anti-de Sitter (AdS) spacetimes. A new class of nonlinearly charged A(dS) bl...

Effective Lagrangian in nonlinear electrodynamics and its properties of causality and unitarity

In nonlinear electrodynamics, by implementing the causality principle as the requirement that the group velocity of elementary excitations over a background field should not exceed the speed of light

Meson Spectrum in Strong Magnetic Fields

We study the relativistic quark-antiquark system embedded in magnetic field. The Hamiltonian containing confinement, one gluon exchange and spin-spin interaction is derived. We analytically follow

Nonlinear (magnetic) correction to the field of a static charge in an external field

We find first nonlinear correction to the field, produced by a static charge at rest in a background constant magnetic field. It is quadratic in the charge and purely magnetic. The third-rank

Quark-Antiquark System in Ultra-Intense Magnetic Field

We study the relativistic quark-antiquark system embedded in magnetic field (MF). The Hamiltonian containing confinement, color Coulomb and spin-spin interaction is derived. We analytically follow

Noncommutative magnetic moment of charged particles

It has been argued that in noncommutative field theories, the sizes of physical objects cannot be taken smaller than an ''elementary length'' related to noncommutativity parameters. By gauge

Vacuum Polarization in a Strong Coulomb Field

A study is carried out of the vacuum polarization in a strong Coulomb field. Radiative corrections are neglected. A perturbation calculation is avoided by making use of the explicit solutions of the

Topological and magnetic properties of the QCD vacuum probed by overlap fermions

We study some of the local CP-odd and magnetic properties of the non-Abelian vacuum with use of overlap fermions within the quenched lattice gauge theory. Among these properties are the following:

Towards a quantum theory of chiral magnetic effect

We discuss three possible ways of addressing quantum physics behind chiral magnetic effect and electric charge fluctuation patterns in heavy ion collisions. The first one makes use of P-parity
