Being formed into a state-dependent linear representation, an input-aane nonlinear system can be considered as a quasi linear parameter varying plant where the parameters are actually functions of the state variables. Recognizing that a critical element in this process is the choice of linear state-dependent representation, a technique is proposed that incorporates this design freedom into the control selection process in an optimal fashion.
